6 WAYS ON HOW MUSIC HAS HELPED AND IS HELPING ME

♫♪” And I don’t want the world to see me, ‘coz I don’t think that they’d understand. Where everything seems to be broken, I just want you to know who I am.” ♫♪

I love music even when it doesn’t seem to return the same interest on me as I am not a great singer - but I can sing somehow.

AS MY PLAYMATE

When I was just a little kid, we used to live in an isolated spot in our hometown where neighbors are 1km or more away from our house. Imagine how lonely it feels back then plus the fact that electricity was not yet available in the area. My uncle has told me that during those times my hobby was to sing out loud when darkness is about to fall. According to him, they don’t know the title and the tune of the songs I was singing, they were just happy hearing me having fun even when I was alone.

AS MY EXTRA TALENT

As trying hard as I am, since I really love to sing I am fond of joining choral groups in and out of the school during my elementary and high school days. I remember using my singing capability when I was campaigning for Student council. I even tried to sing solo in a commencement exercises once before.

AS MY REVIEW BUDDY

Back in college, I have discovered that I can study even better while there’s music playing to my ears.

AS MY NANNY IN ACTION

Lullabies play a big role in taking a baby to sleep, and that’s how music has helped me when Coi was still a baby. Until now, we still love to sing together as part of our bonding moments.

AS MY STRESS AND BOREDOM RELIEVER

Even when there are lot of reports and works lined up every day, with the help of music playing in my office laptop; it makes me not notice the bulks of task I have to accomplish.

AS MY FRIEND

Music has indeed become part of my life. Through happiness and sadness, it acts as my friend; helping me to release any kind of emotions I am dealing with. Whenever I am happy I sing, when I am sad I sing, when I feel empty those lyrics and melodies fill me up.

Music has become my constant companion and has never left me no matter how tough the time is. Music is my invisible buddy who knows me better than anybody else, only if it can speak.

Goodbye Sport Venues! Hello Blogosphere!

Lately, I am becoming less conscious about my body figure. I don’t care much on how I am getting bigger and bigger if I really do.

I have almost given up some of my sports activities. I no longer play badminton. Seldom have I played table tennis during lunch breaks. I have totally stopped on my morning jogging activities. Only my volleyball sessions once or twice a week remains.

To where did I spend much of my time lately? Well, well, well… Isn’t it actually, perceptibly and apparently obvious?

I have shifted myself back to writing again with the intention of earning dollars as well.=)

3 Major Benefits of Running for a Cause

Last October 10 of year 2010 when I tried to join a running activity but not as a runner but as a volunteer instead. That was my first time to witness such program joined by numerous people who really participated in running. Not to mention that it really has some added benefits – to save the Pasig River.
It is indeed an activity of multiple objectives.
photo from the internet
 YOU DO IT FOR FUN
Fun usually happens with people around you and since it is an activity for big delegation it is but impossible for you not to enjoy the event.
YOU DO IT FOR FITNESS
Some people join activities alike for personal health improvement as they want to get fit and fab along with friends as they share on the fun.
YOU DO IT TO HELP OTHERS
I guess this is the best rationale for you to catch up and participate on some fun runs. Aside from the enjoyment and healthy lifestyle which you might earn, you also get the chance to help – helping brothers and sisters in need and sometimes it is the earth, our environment which you aim to support while you also take pleasure in.
Next time, I would like to try to register as a participant and run not just to enjoy the benefits for myself but also for helping others.

PBW: Tired of Doing Nothing

After two months, we get to visit again my future in-laws. I am one of those luckiest women to have in-laws like them. Every time we are in their place they do almost everything.  They - my future nieces, sisters, brothers, and parents in-law.

They take care of  Coi all the time, do the cooking, serve the food, wash the dishes while I just let my back rest on the sofa or in bed just watching a tv show or browsing the internet with either iPod or laptop.
Sometimes I feel really shy about these scenarios but they are the ones whom are so persistent leaving me with no choice but to sit back and relax.

So this past weekend I really got tired of doing nothing - just watching Coi playing with his friends.

Making Sports as a Career

Yes, I have added sports as part of my career since my grade school days. And now I am giving it a little boost. I have to do it in a more serious way as I have to compete- maybe not that serious competition but something more like official. Just last Friday, we went out to scout for a badminton outfit and I am glad that we did not fail. I was able to get a bottom piece for a change. A change indeed as it was a skirt. This will be the first time for me to wear such. I usually come to a badminton court in either jogging pants or shorts.

I just hope this will help as I was told that it can give a more comfy feeling while playing the game. I am just so excited about it.

Injured

Photobucket

Last night we had our first volleyball practice for our sport fest. This is my first time again playing this game after three (3) years of rest. Brought about by too much excitement, I played a lot. I had fun playing especially when we were on scoring betting for a can of soft drink. My team was lost in the first set but we had our revenge on the next. I enjoyed the game without even noticing that my arms were really in pain. When I get home they were already swollen and now they had bruises.

my right arm - with bruises not obvious... hehe!
Our next game was scheduled on Saturday, hope I will no longer feel its pain and expect that I will not get to this point again.

BadmintonTeam Tag - Fartners

August 17 when we (Isay and Me) registered to join the badminton women doubles event for our upcoming sports fest. The following day we had our first practice. I am hoping Isay did not make a wrong decision in choosing me as her partner. She was one of the defending champions in the past. I don't want her to be put to shame; with that I should do my best.

In a game, there is always a winning party in the end. But according to my partner, though "to win" is our priority still "to enjoy" is our secondary objective. While we have to play the game so seriously, we should accept the fact the we are not perfect in any sense. What is important is that we have exerted our best effort to compete. If we lose it then it is basically part of the game but if we make it to the top then that is simply the sweetest thing about a battle. However, we should always be positive in our outlook and must maintain within us the virtue of a healthy competition, keep within ourselves the etiquette of a professional player.

We have already passed the medical clearance portion and we are now looking forward to having enough time to practice as we should still improve our weakness es and strengthen our chemistry as a team.

Well, all these things I have mentioned are just a background of what I have actually thought of. I was thinking of our team's name and I happened to consider "Fartners" which was derived from our group's name "Tropang Utot". Tropa means group and utot means fart, and since it is just the two of us; we are just partners. Partners with an "f".

A Weekend That's Tiring But Fulfilling

I have never been out for several weekends now. I think the last time was when I participated in our company outing last July 24 of this year.

Consequently, during weekends I am a full time mom, a house keeper in that sense. This weekend is just another tiring but fulfilling Saturday and Sunday.

I was able to do the laundry, did the pedicure for myself, glued my sandals, cleansed our silver accessories, took Macoi to the barber shop and had some sort of clean-up and rearrangement of some things in our home.

There was no major changes actually, except that we already placed our personal refrigerator up in our sleeping area - a space in our kitchen was vacated.

Our bed is my favorite spot at home and it feels so good to see things arranged in a manner simply fine where you can relax and spend even a few time of rest.

On the other hand, I guess the process of cleaning had worsen my condition. My colds gone really bad which might be due to inhalation of dusts.

Hope to feel well tomorrow as we have a badminton schedule with office mates.

Back to Life

Well, let me just call this thing life, and I am now back to it. After ten (10) crazy days of waiting for my internet to be fixed, I am now back to blogging again. Though I missed a lot of fun which had made me a bit frustrated about it, I am now feeling some sort of responsibility.

I feel obliged, obliged to update my sites. Write about a lot of things that happened in the past few days and sharing my thoughts to my friends out there.

I really felt the need for an internet most especially when I received some opps while I was offline. I just can't really let those opportunities to pass. Thanks Niko for your help. Now it's my turn to uplift and promote my other half, the other piece of my life - blogging.

In Need of A Camera?

I am a sentimental type of person who loves to look at everything I have kept which reminds me of something, be it a stuff or anything I have held in reserve particularly those photos of events or some special occasions I have been part of.

I love to take pictures but never did I own any camera. I have been dreaming of one before but I was discouraged with the fast pace of technology thinking that I won’t be able to keep a model that’s updated as time goes on. So in order to capture special moments of an extraordinary situation, I have considered the idea of renting a camera instead.

I have learned of a company offering this kind of service – camera hire. Isn’t it a well thought-out business? From there, you can choose from variety of equipment rental such as video camera hire, camcorder hire, or even canon lens hire at the lowest possible rates. They have lots of high-end and renowned brands of video and still camera selection from which you can pick the kind that perfectly fits a certain occasion. They can also help you decide by assessing your need.

Not only that, accessories hire, Apple hire and studio hire are also part of the rental services that they offer. Have you tried availing services alike? You better try it and enjoy taking scenes which will soon remind you of those memorable and precious moments spent with your loved ones without worrying on how to get hold of an equipment of finest quality.

I am just so glad there is something like Camerent which delivers such an easy and reliable alternative. Come on and be one of those pleased and satisfied clients!

Terrible Experience at Porter Restaurant Bar

This blog does not actually intend to ruin the credibility of this bar but this should serve as an eye-opener for them.

Last Friday night after office, we decided to unwind. We have planned to go out for days already and we were so excited. Excited to have fun, relax and do some personal sharing. Prior to leaving the office, we came up to two choices, either here or there. Hehe! Kidding aside, it could either be Porter House or Q-Point.

So the four (4) of us left, Usyo, Dante, Xyra and myself. We have chosen to go to Porter House since it will be closer along the way. We just rode on a public utility jeepney, encountered a bit of traffic until we get to Tejero intersection (Gen. Trias) where you can find the place. We were entertained by a bouncer at the entrance area and there we paid P50 entrance fee. Since there was this admission fee we expected a touch of class. We proceeded to the second floor and there we met the things that we have disputed.

We were actually the very first customers of the night. We asked if we can settle at the 3rd floor where nipa huts are situated  but we were not allowed. We had no choice but to occupy the second level. There we tried to choose the best spot but when we were about to take the seats we were told by the waiter "boss that couch is intended for customers with minimum of P1,500.00 order". How come? Do we have to order stuff amounting that much at the very instance?

Trying to control ourselves, we took the seat the waiter gave us instead. Believe it or not, we were seated as if we were in a PUV sitting side by side. A bit pissed-off we started to place our orders. We were offered with a promo full of limitations. Two buckets of a single variant of beer for a free "pulutan"? What if we like SML and SMSI and SMPP mixed? That can't be. I had no plans of drinking alcoholic beverages that night as I still have colds and slight fever. When I ordered for a pineapple jiuce, it was not available, orange juice, not available as well. A lot of things were not available, so much irritated I drunk the strong ice and finish three of them in a matter of minutes. I also asked my companions to finish everything that they ordered and invited them to get out of that place. I can no longer bear the kind of service they have and I really have no plans of going back there. The service isn't good, the price isn't worth it, the place isn't relaxing.

So much have been said about the not so good experience at the Porter House we transferred to Q Point right after. There we found the things that we were looking for in contrast to what we've got at our first stop. We relaxed, had fun and stayed at Q Point till midnight. Sharing successful,at least we were able to release some of our emotions. Thanks to Tropang Utot for being such good buddies. Till next time. Hope we will be complete by then.

APC Swimming Getaway 2010

I guess it should have been entitled Summer Getaway instead only if it was done on the exact season. It may be a bit late but it is worth to be remembered. Thanks God for letting us enjoy the day. We had fun despite some petty challenges that we have encountered.

There were 24 buses rented for the event (including the spare). I was assigned to bus number 23 - the last bus to leave the office apart from the spare unit. We were initially instructed to leave by 6:20am but we left at already 7:30am. We were supposed to wait for ten (10) persons but only one (1) came.

Inside the bus are two (2) bus marshalls, one (1) first aider, one (1) security personnel, one (1) passenger, the driver and me as the Emergency Responsiveness Team (ERT) member. We were as if candies wobbling in a jar. We can sit anywhere we want, we can even lie down if we chose to as there were really lot of vacant seats.Imagine a 45-seater bus with only 7pax load including the driver. As we enjoyed the overflowing seats, we also took the liberty of getting the food allotted for 45 persons.

About 930am when we reached the venue. The place is nice and enough to accommodate our population except that we really can't position ourselves so close to one another so the arrangement appeared to be by group per facility. We're more than a thousand employees gathered there.

The program started with games, followed by bands playing (a band formed by employees and the one rented for additional entertainment), then a message from our General Manager. I guess the swimming started as soon as some of them arrived which was as early as 8am.

Lunch was set at around  11am. The food were abundant and teeming composed of Pork Adobo, Fresh Lumpia, Grilled Tilapia, Fresh Fruits and soft drinks. After eating, I decided to joined them swimming though I still don't know who will be my constant companions. When I had my outfit changed, I was invited by the group of HR personnel to come with them. And so we did the swimming, tried almost all of the pools around including the lazy river. We also enjoyed the Giant slides though we were scared at first. We had fun until we decided to get up from water at around 2pm. After which we packed up, had our PM snacks and immediately led ourselves to our designated bus ready to go home. We left the venue at around 3pm. On our way home, only five (5) of us were left on bus 23 as the first aider and the other bus marshall went home earlier. Floppy as it is and feeling so tired we just sleep on our way except for the driver of course.

I got home by 5pm, done a little unpacking and fixing of my things and I proceeded to sleep.-Sleep until Sunday morning.

I enjoyed the event but I think I will enjoy it most when my constant buddies are around. I missed the "tropang utot" last Saturday.

My Other Blog Site

From the time I was able to discover that I have kept some of my compositions, I tried to recall where have I put the others. I get back to my compilation of my documents from my PC down to the burned CDs I am keeping. Until I get to realized that I have written those articles in Friendster's blog feature.

There I learned that I was blogging since Year 2006. During those times when FS was on its peak. Though active until now FS has been overtaken by Facebook and I was once addicted to both. But now not anymore or maybe not that much. I am into blogging, super and will never stop. My FS blog site was entitled with my personal tag - SURVIVOR MHE-ANNE.

Now I am planning to import all those articles which would probably go to my other site Emotera as those stuff were fully loaded with emotions. Bitterness, I must say. Though I am having second thoughts still as those might not look so relevant to my current site.

Will do that some other time. Also, I should update my newly made site where I haven't written any articles yet. These things I will pursue once I got even a single opps of my own.

Now a Certified Blog Addict

A Way Out

Finally, I just found a way out.  I just don't know when it's gonna last.

I just have created a new profile and from there I started surfing the net which worked and is working until now.

But this might just be a temporary resolution to my problem since I still have to cross out and throw all those viruses that invaded my pc.

I am just glad that I have already:

1) lifted my pay pal account
2) updated my sites
3) joined a meme
4) visited my fave social networking site
5) researched on stuffs
6) tried blog hopping

Though it is not as fast as it used to be at least faster than last week. And so with this the fun continues...

See you blogging friends...

The Heat is On with LeBron James

Finally, LeBron has made his pick. And some of those speculators who said that he will be joining Miami have perfectly won their bet.

And so what's next? Looking forward for the "Heat" to take home the bacon of the next season.

Which Team Will Lebron Choose?

My office mate and friend Usyo has been encouraging me since Monday to blog about the contract signing decision of NBA's newest version of Big Three.

While Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh already opted to join Miami, still there's a hanging question on which spot would be filled in by Lebron James.

Most of the basketball enthusiasts are eager about the result of Lebron's contemplation. A lot of them are predicting that he might be joining the same team chosen by the first two. Why not? There's a huge possibilityon this. But the decision rests on James and still we cannot yet determine on which team he will be choosing to run along and play the ball with.

Tonight is the last hour of waiting. Let's hold our breath and keep our fingers crossed on this.

Introducing My New Sporty Inclination - Table Tennis

This is now becoming a rival for my blogging time. Instead of writing something to be posted in the blogosphere during lunch breaks I am playing this game.

This game had no appeal on me when we were in college, I remember I even had it substituted with Folk Dance for my second PE class. All my friends enrolled at Table Tennis while I have chosen to wave my arms and hands in gesture along with series of feet movements doing the Folk Dance. But I had no regrets about it.
Anyways, I used to be a good folk dancer back in grade school (don't know why the picture did not attach properly). We even won a place in a Town Folk dance competition.

Going back, Yes, I am now fond of playing table tennis. I knew now the basic mechanics of the game and I am enjoying playing it already. Before it seemed like there was no thrill holding a small racket and hitting a small ball in a table. I thought the movement was limited but I have learned that it really depends on how you play it.

This time I just love to grab this little racket and slap a tiny ball.

Good thing that our company has it so I can play with my friends at work.

It is now one of my best ways to release stress.

This Time I've Had Enough

From enough of time to complete my tasks at home last weekend. This time Ive had enough of:

1) SLEEP

They say that you must spend at least 8 hours to have enough quantity of sleep and I think I had it last night as I got into bed around 11pm and woke up by 7am. And it feels just right. But sometimes it's not just the quantity that counts but the quality as well. Though I had a headache which brought me to sleep earlier, I had my whole sleeping tired uninterrupted as Macoi was not beside me. I am not saying that I am happy about it though. Yet I am thankful that I had the chance to do so while knowing that Macoi has slept better in his place last night. It was some kinda humid in our sleeping area. In this case, I guess it's synonymous that I had enough of rest even though I almost came in late for work - like last two minutes and the bell will ring.

2) FOCUS

That enough of rest I had led me to some sort of a little direction to work on my tasks at office. Despite the fact that I was in a RUSHian and URGENTinian mode. I was able to make it to finally submit some special project documents needed for a certain application. I just wish that those papers were accepted and validated. Anyway, it's my first time and there's always a first time from which we can learn from.

3) EXERCISE

I have been exerting effort to achieve a normal BMI and so I do some sort of jogging, walking, running, jumping almost every morning. And since I've cited that I got up at 7am today so I never had the time to do it which I really intended. It is because I knew and I have prepared myself to go to badminton tonight. And it happened. It's the kind of game I want where I sweat a lot. I had to change shirt after the first game because you can really squeeze it and have a bottle of water which came out from my body. It is indeed the kind of exercise I am craving. Enough for me to burn fats and calories - a greater chance for me to reduce weight.

Not to mention that I also did play a little of table tennis during our lunch break. It is undeniably enough of work out.

Hope next time I would have enough time to blog as well. Feeling sleepy now. Just would like to share some pics taken when I was actively playing and joining Badminton tournaments with my ex-officemates way way back. :)

NBA_Game 7

NBA.com is making me busy right now!

Glad that I was able to haggle for the submission of docs till next week.

Laughing at myself, it's really comical as we are watching the NBA finals but it's just the score that we're seeing.

Boston led by 4, Lakers tied, Lakers led by 3 points and so we assumed that it was a 3point play by the team.

Funny how we imagine the game as it happens as we don't have the means to see it.

Now our bet is leading by 6 while I was writing it. Haha!

This is my project for today – to blog about NBA's most awaited game 7 between Boston Celtics and L.A. Lakers.

While just wondering what's happening it affects my system – feeling really nervous about it for the Lakers.

And so we won! Bryant contributed the biggest points for Lakers!

Ice cream! Ice cream!

Now we'll claim for it from the boys.
