Goodbye Sport Venues! Hello Blogosphere!

Lately, I am becoming less conscious about my body figure. I don’t care much on how I am getting bigger and bigger if I really do.

I have almost given up some of my sports activities. I no longer play badminton. Seldom have I played table tennis during lunch breaks. I have totally stopped on my morning jogging activities. Only my volleyball sessions once or twice a week remains.

To where did I spend much of my time lately? Well, well, well… Isn’t it actually, perceptibly and apparently obvious?

I have shifted myself back to writing again with the intention of earning dollars as well.=)

3 Major Benefits of Running for a Cause

Last October 10 of year 2010 when I tried to join a running activity but not as a runner but as a volunteer instead. That was my first time to witness such program joined by numerous people who really participated in running. Not to mention that it really has some added benefits – to save the Pasig River.
It is indeed an activity of multiple objectives.
photo from the internet
 YOU DO IT FOR FUN
Fun usually happens with people around you and since it is an activity for big delegation it is but impossible for you not to enjoy the event.
YOU DO IT FOR FITNESS
Some people join activities alike for personal health improvement as they want to get fit and fab along with friends as they share on the fun.
YOU DO IT TO HELP OTHERS
I guess this is the best rationale for you to catch up and participate on some fun runs. Aside from the enjoyment and healthy lifestyle which you might earn, you also get the chance to help – helping brothers and sisters in need and sometimes it is the earth, our environment which you aim to support while you also take pleasure in.
Next time, I would like to try to register as a participant and run not just to enjoy the benefits for myself but also for helping others.

Making Sports as a Career

Yes, I have added sports as part of my career since my grade school days. And now I am giving it a little boost. I have to do it in a more serious way as I have to compete- maybe not that serious competition but something more like official. Just last Friday, we went out to scout for a badminton outfit and I am glad that we did not fail. I was able to get a bottom piece for a change. A change indeed as it was a skirt. This will be the first time for me to wear such. I usually come to a badminton court in either jogging pants or shorts.

I just hope this will help as I was told that it can give a more comfy feeling while playing the game. I am just so excited about it.

A Weekend That's Tiring But Fulfilling

I have never been out for several weekends now. I think the last time was when I participated in our company outing last July 24 of this year.

Consequently, during weekends I am a full time mom, a house keeper in that sense. This weekend is just another tiring but fulfilling Saturday and Sunday.

I was able to do the laundry, did the pedicure for myself, glued my sandals, cleansed our silver accessories, took Macoi to the barber shop and had some sort of clean-up and rearrangement of some things in our home.

There was no major changes actually, except that we already placed our personal refrigerator up in our sleeping area - a space in our kitchen was vacated.

Our bed is my favorite spot at home and it feels so good to see things arranged in a manner simply fine where you can relax and spend even a few time of rest.

On the other hand, I guess the process of cleaning had worsen my condition. My colds gone really bad which might be due to inhalation of dusts.

Hope to feel well tomorrow as we have a badminton schedule with office mates.

APC Swimming Getaway 2010

I guess it should have been entitled Summer Getaway instead only if it was done on the exact season. It may be a bit late but it is worth to be remembered. Thanks God for letting us enjoy the day. We had fun despite some petty challenges that we have encountered.

There were 24 buses rented for the event (including the spare). I was assigned to bus number 23 - the last bus to leave the office apart from the spare unit. We were initially instructed to leave by 6:20am but we left at already 7:30am. We were supposed to wait for ten (10) persons but only one (1) came.

Inside the bus are two (2) bus marshalls, one (1) first aider, one (1) security personnel, one (1) passenger, the driver and me as the Emergency Responsiveness Team (ERT) member. We were as if candies wobbling in a jar. We can sit anywhere we want, we can even lie down if we chose to as there were really lot of vacant seats.Imagine a 45-seater bus with only 7pax load including the driver. As we enjoyed the overflowing seats, we also took the liberty of getting the food allotted for 45 persons.

About 930am when we reached the venue. The place is nice and enough to accommodate our population except that we really can't position ourselves so close to one another so the arrangement appeared to be by group per facility. We're more than a thousand employees gathered there.

The program started with games, followed by bands playing (a band formed by employees and the one rented for additional entertainment), then a message from our General Manager. I guess the swimming started as soon as some of them arrived which was as early as 8am.

Lunch was set at around  11am. The food were abundant and teeming composed of Pork Adobo, Fresh Lumpia, Grilled Tilapia, Fresh Fruits and soft drinks. After eating, I decided to joined them swimming though I still don't know who will be my constant companions. When I had my outfit changed, I was invited by the group of HR personnel to come with them. And so we did the swimming, tried almost all of the pools around including the lazy river. We also enjoyed the Giant slides though we were scared at first. We had fun until we decided to get up from water at around 2pm. After which we packed up, had our PM snacks and immediately led ourselves to our designated bus ready to go home. We left the venue at around 3pm. On our way home, only five (5) of us were left on bus 23 as the first aider and the other bus marshall went home earlier. Floppy as it is and feeling so tired we just sleep on our way except for the driver of course.

I got home by 5pm, done a little unpacking and fixing of my things and I proceeded to sleep.-Sleep until Sunday morning.

I enjoyed the event but I think I will enjoy it most when my constant buddies are around. I missed the "tropang utot" last Saturday.

This Time I've Had Enough

From enough of time to complete my tasks at home last weekend. This time Ive had enough of:

1) SLEEP

They say that you must spend at least 8 hours to have enough quantity of sleep and I think I had it last night as I got into bed around 11pm and woke up by 7am. And it feels just right. But sometimes it's not just the quantity that counts but the quality as well. Though I had a headache which brought me to sleep earlier, I had my whole sleeping tired uninterrupted as Macoi was not beside me. I am not saying that I am happy about it though. Yet I am thankful that I had the chance to do so while knowing that Macoi has slept better in his place last night. It was some kinda humid in our sleeping area. In this case, I guess it's synonymous that I had enough of rest even though I almost came in late for work - like last two minutes and the bell will ring.

2) FOCUS

That enough of rest I had led me to some sort of a little direction to work on my tasks at office. Despite the fact that I was in a RUSHian and URGENTinian mode. I was able to make it to finally submit some special project documents needed for a certain application. I just wish that those papers were accepted and validated. Anyway, it's my first time and there's always a first time from which we can learn from.

3) EXERCISE

I have been exerting effort to achieve a normal BMI and so I do some sort of jogging, walking, running, jumping almost every morning. And since I've cited that I got up at 7am today so I never had the time to do it which I really intended. It is because I knew and I have prepared myself to go to badminton tonight. And it happened. It's the kind of game I want where I sweat a lot. I had to change shirt after the first game because you can really squeeze it and have a bottle of water which came out from my body. It is indeed the kind of exercise I am craving. Enough for me to burn fats and calories - a greater chance for me to reduce weight.

Not to mention that I also did play a little of table tennis during our lunch break. It is undeniably enough of work out.

Hope next time I would have enough time to blog as well. Feeling sleepy now. Just would like to share some pics taken when I was actively playing and joining Badminton tournaments with my ex-officemates way way back. :)

A Walk With Coi and Cows.

This day is supposed to be my 9th day of jogging. Woke up at 6am but when I went downstairs Macoi has got up already too.

Having no choice I took him with me. We walked to the venue while I was holding his cutie left hand.

Not yet reaching the place he asked me to carry him so I did as he was attacked by hiccup.

As we got there, I told him to get down but he still didn't want to. What I did to encourage him was to bring him close to the group of cows. So he did. He enjoyed the scene and had fun imitating the sound of the said animal.

As if we're having a tour, I brought him to the reclaimed area for the third phase of our subdivision. We walked until we completed walking around the entire vacant space.

Good thing that the sun was already shining so I sweated like I was doing the regular jogging without Macoi. It may not be as much as those days but at least certain calories were burned.

After seeing about more or less 20 cows in the area we decided to go home. On our way home, he asked me to carry him once more and that's until we reached home.

I may not be able to do the usual activity but I did enjoy the bonding moments I had with coi.

8days of jogging = 3lbs lost

Yeah! You read it right. Believe it or not I've already lost 3lbs within my 8days of jogging, running or walking...

At least there's an improvement. It might be little for now and may not be visible yet but if I will never stop doing this, it will lead me back to my size back then.I'm keeping my fingers crossed on this.

Let me use my computing mind on this. My goal is to get back to my normal BMI (Body Mass Index). Considering my height of 5'4", I should only be weighing 120lbs or approximately 55kgs only. From 153lbs last week, I am now at 150lbs. My conservative assumption is to lose an average of 2lbs per week. Since I am 30lbs overweight, I would be needing 15 more weeks to attain it. Not bad. If I really make jogging a habit by the end of September or early October this year I would be perfectly fit. Wow!

See that curve? That's mine. I used to be just like that. And now I am dreaming of having the same body again. Just have to translate this dream into reality.

Jogging Day 8

Good Morning Universe!

My plan of getting up by 530am did not happen again. As expected. Hihi!

I just drop by here actually not to write but to visit my site and I was so surprised seeing that the number of my followers increased.

Thanks to GT. Will definitely return the favor later tonight.

Eventually I won't be needing to write about my daily run. My next concern would be showing the difference if I am really losing weight or not.

Jogging will now become my regular routine.

Jogging Day 7...

Excited to write about? Obviously. Though there was nothing so special about it, I just wanna take advantage of this time while I am having rest prior to taking a bath.

My grandma would surely scold me  if I go straight to the bathroom after my ran. As the usual lines would be "magpahinga ka muna, nakasapatos ka pa, pasma ang aabutin mo" and of course "hindi mo ngayon mararamdaman yan, pagtanda mo saka ka sisingilin ng sakit". So as not to initiate discussion I just decided to follow. At least I have this time to blog.

This time I wore again my rubber shoes, my favorite - since it is my only one. Hehe! Did the running and walking for 30mins  while I was doing it alone again. Tita Alma didn't show up. Good thing that I have my iPhone with me. I was singing while jogging so I won't get bored.

Jogging Day 5 & 6...

Since I wasn't able to write last night here's an update on my personal WRP. Though attacked by laziness, I conquered it. Got up a little later than the usual, these two days are pretty much the same. I did the run starting 6am up to 630am only and did it both without wearing a pair of rubber shoes. Why? Because the lazy me let somebody had my feet a pedicure so my left hallux (whatta term??? - big toe) was murdered in some sort.

The only difference is that yesterday I jogged alone without my constant companion Tita Alma and this morning she was late more than I am. Hihi!

Well, at least I am really catching up everyday to sustain the activity - except for weekends. :D

Hope I can be this slim... =(

Jogging - weekends exempted

Ever wonder why there was no post til now on my day 5 & 6 of jogging? This is because I decided to exempt weekends for a run. Friday night is usually a busy night which making me sleep later than ever. So I have to recover from sleep and wake up till my eyes get tired of sleeping during Saturdays and Sundays. Hehe!

Monday will be my Day 5... expect me writing again on Monday night.

Jogging Day 4... done with music to my ears...

Just like yesterday 5:45am when I get up from bed. I was awaken by a tap from my aunt who asked if I'm going to go for a jogging. Without hesitation, I silently went down so as not to disturb my sleeping prince - Macoi, as I did not intend to take him along.

What made this day different is that I brought with me my iPhone and jogged with music to my ears. It drives me more and even made me more energetic.  I noticed that I sweated a lot this time than in my previous days. From now on, I'll be bringing this stuff with me.

After thirty (30) minutes, my aunt and Macoi joined me. Fifteen (15) minutes passed and we're done.

While I was jogging  with sun starting to shine, I saw my shadow in front of me as if asking me to follow then I just told myself wishing that in the next days I'll be seeing a slimmer shadow of mine... I ain't crazy, just daydreaming in some sort...  =)

Jogging - Day 3

I almost forgot. I should write about my personal WRP (Weight Reduction Program) - Jogging. I am now in my 3rd day and counting.

Since I lack sleep the other night I almost can't get up this morning aside from the fact that my iPhone was battery empty so it didn't rang an alarm...

5:45am I rose from my bed wore my running shoes and immediately proceeded to our jogging venue. Glad that I still had enough time to run and discharge sweat from my huge body. 6:30am and it's done. Planning for the next day - 4th day.

Hope it won't rain every morning so there wouldn't be any reason for me not to do it again and again...

Oh well, I should be consistently doing it really coz dadi bought me a pair of shoes which I can use for jogging...

Thanks again dadi and also to Dhang. Nice pick!

Jogging - Day 2

Lately, I notice the same me always telling to myself how my body has gained weight... From the slim me... to sexy me and now to biggie me...

I must admit and face the reality that I am 33lbs overweight as of yesterday when I tried to weigh in at our company clinic... Wahhh!

The other night was the great realization when I have decided to go for jogging every morning... and this 530-630am was my second day... I have thought that merely skipping meals will not give me the exact output I desire in a certain period of time...

I am not expecting to lose weight in an instant but I am glad that I have establish the determination to do so... The big issue left for now is the sustainability... Until when can I last to wake-up early and make myself tired of running and walking...

Come to think of it... Jogging is as if traveling without a destination...

What gives it the direction is your goal of losing weight or getting more physically fit in some ways...

Somehow you might think that connecting all the steps you've made will take you farther and can even take you somewhere which you usually get through a moving vehicle...

I don't want to make promises this time but I'm keeping my fingers crossed to be personally consistent in this effort...

I guess I was wrong when I said that I have no choice but to embrace a new me...

I believe I can still make a difference and so you are...
